For any question about your data, write to this address: we answer as quickly as we can.
What we process, and why
We collect only what each service requires.
Contact form, name, e-mail address, message and, where relevant, the service concerned. Purpose: answering your enquiry and preparing a possible quote.
Newsletter, e-mail address and language. Purpose: sending you our news. Every message contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
Free tools (site audit, SEO analysis, security test, deliverability, compliance, carbon footprint, domain name, legal texts), the address of the site or domain analysed, the result of the analysis and, if you choose to leave it, your e-mail address. Purpose: producing the report, sending it to you and, if you allow it, contacting you about that test.
Job applications, the information you send us by e-mail, spontaneously or in response to a vacancy.
Audience measurement, pages viewed, referrer, device type, in statistical form and only if you have consented (see the “Cookies” section).
Technical logs, our hosting provider records IP addresses and incoming requests, for security and correct operation.
The basis on which we process
We process your data when you send it to us yourself (form, newsletter, free tool, application), to perform the contract or the pre-contractual steps you initiate, to meet our legal obligations, notably the retention of accounting records under the Swiss Code of Obligations, and for the legitimate interests of site security and service improvement. Audience measurement and non-essential cookies rest solely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Who your data is shared with
We neither sell nor rent your data. It is accessible to our team, and shared only with the providers required to run the site:
Hosting, our hosting provider, which operates the servers and backups.
Audience measurement (Google Analytics, only after your consent.
Free tools) to produce a report, the address you enter is sent to the services performing the measurements: Google PageSpeed Insights (performance), Microlink (screenshots), Anthropic (AI-written analysis), the Green Web Foundation (green hosting), the domain name registries and Google's public DNS resolver. These services receive the address analysed, never your e-mail address.
Each of these providers acts as a processor, contractually bound to process the data only on our instructions.
Transfers abroad
Some of the providers above are established outside Switzerland, notably in the European Union and the United States. Such transfers only take place to countries offering adequate protection as recognised by the Federal Council, or on the basis of the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Commissioner. Only what the service requires is transferred.
Retention periods
Contact enquiries: three years from the last exchange.
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
Analysis results and addresses left through the free tools: three years.
Job applications: six months after the position closes, unless you agree to longer retention.
Accounting and contractual records: ten years, under the Code of Obligations.
Technical logs: a few weeks.
Once the period ends, data is deleted or anonymised.
Cookies and equivalent technologies
This site sets two kinds of cookies.
Necessary cookies, they remember your cookie choice, your language and your light or dark theme preference. They serve no tracking purpose and require no consent.
Audience measurement cookies, they are set only after your explicit agreement, given through the banner shown on arrival. They tell us which pages interest our visitors, without ever allowing us to identify you personally.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking “Cookies” at the bottom of the page. Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies already set.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only and traffic is encrypted. Administrative access is limited to those who need it, backups run daily and security updates are applied regularly. As no technical measure offers absolute certainty, we undertake to inform you without delay of any data breach likely to entail a high risk for you.
Your rights
You may at any time request access to your data, its correction or deletion, object to a processing operation, request its restriction, or obtain your data in a common format. You may also withdraw consent already given, without affecting processing already carried out.
A simple request to contact@e-medias.ch is enough. We may verify your identity before answering, so as not to disclose your data to a third party.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern.
Automated decisions and profiling
We take no decision producing legal effects concerning you on the sole basis of automated processing, and carry out no high-risk profiling. The reports produced by our free tools are technical analyses of the site you submit: they contain no assessment of you as a person.
